Girder Clamps – Type A
- Recessed clamping pieces for steel flanges
- M10 to M20
Girder clamps are typically used to make a connection where one steel crosses another using a set of four Type A and B clamps in pairs to clamp the flanges together. The Type A has a recessed top to hold the bolt head and the Type B a flat top for tightening the nut. Each connection also requires a thin steel drilled location plate between the steels for the clamping bolts to pass through to hold all the components in place.
It is important that the Girder Clamps are in full contact with the steel flange and packing pieces should be used as necessary to achieve this. Bolts should be selected according to the total thickness of steelwork and Girder Clamps.
