Self Drilling Screws - Construction type

Carbon steel screws used for drilling and tapping into steel in one application,

  • Superior corrosion protection – high tech three layer coating for superb rust proofing qualities
  • Hexagon heads are 5/16 AF – use MOP08 drive sockets
  • Bonded washers provide weatherseal and also isolation of screw from substrate.

Screws should be selected according to the application and the thickness of the steel being drilled. Screws for heavier steels have a longer drill point, so that the hole is drilled before the threads engage, and finer threads suited to tapping thicker steels.

For steel clad building applications, screws with bonded washers are used for weathersealing. Timberfix Screws are countersunk screws designed for fixing timber to steel.

Also included is a full range of Stainless Steel bimetal screws for situations calling for high corrosion resistance.
